Happy Halloween!

Our day started off with a great call from Willams parents - they missed their granddaughter and wanted to know if it would be okay to visit AND bring us lunch from Parker's! umm.. YES to both! So we had a great visit and a great lunch!

Sweet moment with Mee Ma and Papa Bell!

That evening, our neighbors stopped by to say hello! We have been blessed by The Pruitts! Their son, Ben, is a few months older than Cora so it is nice to have a playmate close by!

Cora and Ben, "The Lion"

We got a few "trick or treaters" that night! Cora enjoyed seeing everyone in costume. I'm sure she wondered what was going on!

Us with our little Tinker Bell!

Wow, I feel like Halloween went on forever! I think Cora will be okay not wearing the Tinker Bell outfit for a little while!

Another day, Another party!

We had yet another party to go to today for Halloween. This time it was held where William works - Sandoz. It was actually quite nice. I can't say I know of many companies that do this for their employees. Another reason why we are so thankful for William's job. Cora was real excited about seeing the balloons there! I think we could have left after she got her balloon but we stayed and enjoyed candy, cakes, chips, and games. Here are a few shots to remember it all by.

Cora and William by the sign!

Cora seemed to be drawn to these duck games.

Cake walk. No cake was won during this picture. Or at all.

Cora getting her balloon animal from the clown. We had one tired Tinker Bell by this point!

Facing Forward!

Today, we finally turned Cora's seat around! She is no longer rear facing and I think she likes the view so much better.

Fall Festival at CPC

The festivities continued here in the Bell household! Our church had a fall festival tonight to welcome our new pastor, John Estorge, and his family to Greenville. They have moved here from Kentucky. We enjoyed showing Cora the games and we let her stay up later than usual to see all the square dancing! She was so tired she couldn't even stand straight!

William and his Tinker Bell!

Cora seemed to enjoy the duck games wherever we went...

Watching all the square dancers!

No Tricks, Just Treats!!

We had a fun outing this morning to Spring Arbor Assisted Living Home!  We went door to door to the residents and wished them "Happy Halloween" and gave them yummy treats!  It was so fun seeing all the kids dressed up in their costumes.  The residents loved it!  You could just see their eyes light up as they saw the kids coming down the hall.  Most came out of their rooms to watch us and visit more.  It really made me think of my own grandparents.  All of mine passed away  before I got to highschool.  It was so nice getting married to William and he still had 1 set of grandparents left, Grandma and PawPaw Bell.   I've loved visiting with them and getting to listen to their stories about their travels.  It makes me want to spend more time with them!  Cora will have alot to learn from her own grandparents!

Group photo!

Knocking on the residents door.

Passing out our goodies!
All the kids got Animal Crackers as a treat for them too!

I really hope we can get to do more activities like this.  It was a great outing for us!

Celebrating Life...

Last night, We had the privilege of attending the 19th annual "Celebrate Life Banquet" here in Greenville.  Some of you may not be familiar with this but it is honoring the Carolina Pregnancy Center.  This year marks their 25th year of service. They provide many services to women who find themselves in an unplanned pregnancy.  Their mission is to "...provide abortion alternatives, post abortion support, and abstinence education with hope of transforming lives through the grace of Jesus Christ."  It was amazing seeing client testimonials and seeing pictures of babies that might not otherwise have been born without the center.  Both William and I enjoyed it immensely!  Here are some pictures to highlight the evening!

William and Cora before we left!  We got a babysitter and everything! Great night out!

Also joining our table were The Orrs, The Scotts, and The Johnsons

The food was yummy!!

Our dessert for the evening - the birthday candle represented all the babies that would have birthdays that year because of the center.

We had a great time and we can't wait till next year!

Girl's Weekend!!!

William is away for a "Men's Retreat" with our church, Christ Presbyterian.  While he is gone, Cora and I have really enjoyed ourselves. Today, our day has revolved mostly around football.  This morning we went to go cheer on our nephew's football team to a victory!  Also, today is ECU's homecoming game against Marshall.  It would have been great to have seen it in person, we settled for watching it on TV.

Cora watching the game with her new ball.

She watched it with me till half time and then it was bedtime for her.

It was an ECU win, 37 to 10,  so another "W" for the Pirates!  Since William has been away, I've used this weekend to indulge in girly movies!  I have really enjoyed getting to watch "Letters to Juliet" and "Just Wright".  Both were clean and just fun to watch.  And William wouldn't have enjoyed them so it was pretty perfect to watch while he was away, haha.  I've heard that he is enjoying himself down at the beach so I'm so thankful!  I hope and pray that his weekend is restful and he comes back encouraged to continue leading our family for God's glory!  Looking forward to my hubby coming back tomorrow!!

The 18 month review...

Our sweet Cora has continued growing up and has now turned the ripe age of 1.5 years!!  Quick question:  when do you stop using months to say how old your child is?  Is it after 18 months?  Or is it when they turn 2?  Is there etiquette for this?  Who knows and more importantly who really cares!  Point is, Cora is 18 months and she is doing really well.  Here are some pictures that capture what type of things she is doing now!  Not exactly developmental milestones but still picture worthy!

She can now stick her fingers in her ears!  Way to go!

She has grown a milk goatee!

She stopped running around for just a second!  Whew!

To the left- Cora at 6 months!  To the right- Cora at 18  months!

At 18 months, Cora is finally giving hugs and kisses, which we love.  She will also blow kisses!!  She calls us "mama" and "dada" pretty regularly.  She loves helping us throw things away, even things we may not exactly ask her to do.  Anytime I'm getting ice or water from the automatic dispenser on the fridge door, she is right there helping me hold my cup.  She's into "Sesame Street" and her favorite character from that is, of course, Elmo. She not only walks, but runs everywhere.  She loves to dance to music, especially "Black-Eyed Peas" and she is trying to jump, which is hilarious to watch.  She daily asks to "color" which involves her walking around with crayons.  She is a climber, which she gets from her daddy! She is down to 1 nap a day now and her bedtime is still 7pm.  Some of Cora's favorite words are bubble, color, hey, bye, puppy, ball, night night, shoes, and eat but she pretty much tries to repeat anything you say.  Her absolutely favorite things right now are her puppy dog and her blanket.  If she could, she would carry them everywhere!

Hey, Hey, HAYride and pumpkin pickin'!

Today we had a family outing to Briley's pumpkin patch!  I was hoping for a place with lots to do and Briley's did not disappoint.  Petting zoo, hayrides, corn maze, and pumpkins!

On the hayride!

Cora picking out our pumpkin!

We had a great afternoon!
Just for fun... check out this picture of Cora from last year.. My how she has grown!

I finally did it...I blogged.

Oh no... What have I done? Do I have time for this? Does anyone care what I have to say? Will anyone even read this? These are questions that flood my mind anytime I thought about starting a blog. I guess I felt that my life experiences didn't need sharing but I enjoy reading about what God is doing in the lives of my loved ones. I want to share what God is doing in our lives. Especially now that William and I are on this journey called "Parenthood" or "How to survive when you have this tiny human to care for". God is doing alot and I'm learning that I need to be bold and share this with my family and friends and whomever else that might need to hear about His grace and mercy. So this blog will be that - my thoughts on life, how we are not only surviving but thriving only by the grace of God, and yeah, probably pictures of our sweet Cora! Hope you enjoy.... These are just my thoughts.
